Well, winter is here. No denying it now, there is snow on the ground. Bollucks.
Saddest thing about November: I only have 139 pictures in my November folder. Mind you, there have been sports stuff here and there, but that is a count of pictures that I took for fun. Lame.
Next week is the week of hell, then followed by the week of minor-hell.
Winter Cleaning Projects: - Room - Car - Picture Folders
Forcing my self to get out and shoot. Even if I have done these before, I gotta keep shooting! I was always struck by the color combination of the light orange-beige and the blue of the water in these ponds.
Writing a ton. Up to 6,500 words for my senior research topic. Got to get to 10,000!
haven't been taking a lot of pictures lately, kind of depressing. So I posted the above, a banner I made for the front page of Judson. I'm pretty happy with it (you gotta click it to see the whole thing). Wish I could do a lot more of that crap, practice with Illustrator and junk. Been so busy with trying to keep up with school. Well, at least by about this time next year, I will be graduating. Couldn't come soon enough! Though it seems with the economy as bad as it is for jobs that I want, I may have no choice but to get a Masters... Frick, more school. LAME.
And my boss told me that he is going to have to cut down my hours at work; there apparently just isn't enough work for me. Sucks because winter break is coming and I try and work full time over break to make money to survive the semester. I guess its time to get creative! And maybe sell a camera or a lens or two. Such as life I guess.
A random thought. I was looking through some facebook friends profiles of people I knew in high school... I came to this thought that it seems that some of the people I never wanted to know turned out to be the exact people I would want to know today. Funny how that works.
I suppose I was hit with another realization, the one thing I do regret from high school is the one thing I thought I would never regret... Oh getting older is SO much FUN! *grumble* *grumble*
First basketball game of the season. Not super stoked with the 1D Mark II at ISO3200... And this is also my first time shooting in the Judson University gym... all I gotta say is its pretty gross in there, lighting wise. Even at ISO3200 I could only get shutter speeds at 1/320th sometimes, most fell in at 1/250th. Yuck! The last gym I shot basketball in was at Genoa-Kingston High School, my favorite place to shoot sports. ISO1600 and 1/400th. Amazing.
Just got the word today that my hours at the millwork shop are going to be cut, and I am already down to 15. I was planning to work near full time during winter break. So much for that. I sure hope I can survive.
Also thinking about applying for an internship with the AP (Associated Press) for next summer. Would be stinking amazing.
Changes on the horizon for my website! Hard at work at a redesign, including business cards! This is turning out to be QUITE a challenge. But at least it is something I am thoroughly enjoying. :)
Anyway, crunch time in school. Big push to the end.

EDIT:: Here is the finished footage from my trip downtown. All the editing and a majority of the shots where done by Doug Miller, though some of my clips are in there too! :)
Went to the Obama rally downtown on election day. Sadly, my guy didn't win, but politics moves on. Actually, the rally was really boring too. Couple hundred thousand people gathering in Grant Park to watch CNN. Not so fun :(.
It was also really dark and I don't yet have a fast wide angle lens, just my 24-105 f4L. So I shot everything at ISO3200. Most of the images where also taken at less than 1/50th a second, which made things even more ridiculous.

PS: I am also working on a new website design as part of a project for a class. Watch for it!
