MIGRATION!!!

No, its not the start of a new Ice Age, but the movement of my photoblog from here to my new, in progress website:

http://www.kshermphoto.com

I have decided to make the home portion of my website my photoblog with seperate pages for my gallery (which is in progress, have to decide how I want to work with this portion) and a download of my portfolio with my resume at the end. There will be some changes forthcoming as I learn more CSS and XHTML goodness, but I will no longer be posting here.

Thanks for following and I hope you continue to follow me on my new wordpress blog.

Gah, I am busy! Got a lot of catch up to do, especially in the pixel department. Sorry :(

In other news, my laptop died. Completely. Logic board failure is my best guess. Good thing I have a Time Machine :). When I took my laptop to the Apple Store to get fixed up, they took pitty on me and since I have had that laptop fixed so many times (everything had pretty much been replaced once or twice at some point), they gave me a brand new MacBook Pro. Amazing. I bought mine nearly two years ago and they even gave me the top-end 15.4" model since I had upgraded the RAM and HD in my old laptop. So basically, two years later a computer I bought for $1800 was replaced with a brand new, current generation $2500 machine. Incredible.

Back to work.

Haha, who makes their school mascot the "Pretzels". I don't understand.

First game shooting in RAW with the 1D Mark II. It was suggested to me that the Mark II makes real crappy JPEGs. I must say, I agree. These look way better. Too bad my hard drives will shrink. And it makes my lappy's fans spin. I want to build a new desktop so bad.

Applying for an internship. Joined the NPPA. Going to put together a portfolio for SportsShooter. Rawk.

Man, I thought Genoa-Kingston High School had incredible lighting in their gym... Then I shot here at Belvidere North High School (for the initiated: f2.8, 1/500-1/640 at ISO1600!). The game was mostly a blow-out, with Belvidere North (white) leading by over 20 points at the half. Belvidere (black) ended up coming to within 6 points for most of the last qaurter. Got pretty exciting! I understand that this was some form of cross-town rivalry since both schools are from Belvidere, IL.

So what else... I am going to make more of an effort to write in this photoblog instead of just 'here are pictures'.

I am applying to SportsShooter.com which is one of the most respected sports photography communities on the 'nets. Then when I get a check from work next week, I am going to join the National Press Photographers Association and find me an internship for the semester.

Classes start in two days, I have 18 credit this semester and graduation in 335 days, not that I am counting or anything.

My favorite piece of technology: the 30 inch display.

It makes my 24in at home feel normal and just barely adequate.

I suppose short of my camera, this picture really hold most all my favorite pieces of technology :)

Sorry for the lack of updates (I'm apologizing on a blog, huh) but it has been many many days since I have taken a single picture. Sad to say this might well be the first picture of 2009. Huh.

Classes start soon and this is also the beginning of my last full semester of classes. Just a few here and there and in 337 days, one phase of life will finally be over. Not sure what the next holds, but I am excited and anxious to get on with it.

In the near future, I hope to have my WordPress blog functioning and when that day comes, my updates will all be up over there.

Got a lot planned for the year, hopefully everything pans out!
